Regional Exploration and ProductionProperty located in the DPFZ - The Destor-Porcupine Fault Zone system is the principal regional lineament associated with numerous gold deposits in the Timmins camp.Hollinger Mine operated from 1910 until 1968. During that period 65,778,234 tons were milled, producing 19,327,691 ounces of gold, indicating an overall grade of 0.29. McIntyre mine operated from 1912 to 1988 there were 37,529,691 tons milled, producing 10,745,361 ounces of gold, an overall grade of 0.29 ounces per ton. | |||||||
Other Local ExplorationThe Whitesides Carscallen property is located in the adjacent township to the recent West Timmins Mining/Lake Shore Gold discovery of 12.75 g/T gold over 83.4 meters The property is also immediately west of Carscallen Township where Melkior Resources drilling, which intersected 60.27 G/T over 1.8 meters.The Whitesides-Carscallen property lies within the Porcupine Gold Camp, which has a cumulative historical gold production in excess of 67 million ounces and even today continues to grow as new mines come on stream. | |||||||
Property GeologyThe property hosts a belt of mafic metavolcanics sandwiched between mafic to ultramafic intrusives to the north and Granodiorites to the south. Major northwest southeast trending structures also occur within this favorable stratigraphy. | |||||||
Historical HighlightsThe property has been previously explored for nickel-copper l within the gabbros in the north. A historical gold occurrence is situated to the west of the property within the mafic metavolcanic belt. | |||||||
Work Completed to DateRock sampling by the company in the fall of 2009, southwest of Bean Lake returned assays of 0.40 % Ni and 1.06 % Cu and 0.20% Ni and 1.68% Cu from two grab samples within a gabbroic sill. | |||||||
